Similar to Storm Claudia hit the northwest the night before, the home side overwhelmed the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil victory for the City coach's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their title credentials as they reinforced their position at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for United

This scoreline marked consecutive league setbacks for Skinner's side for the maiden instance since spring 2024, leaving them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations severely dented.

The Red Devils' capacity to juggle domestic and continental soccer with a limited roster has been a widely debated topic since they secured entry to the Champions League. Team Changes

Marc Skinner had attempted to rotate the squad with a handful of changes. Toone, Terland, Janssen and Leah Galton all provided vigor, although the omission of the in-form Malard to the substitutes was questioned.
