Palestinian-American Teenager Freed After Nine Months in Israeli Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention absent formal charges gained freedom.
Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 at the time of his arrest last February within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.
The US state department said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.
Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.
They said he is pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.
Via family representatives, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" throughout the past nine months.
"At this moment, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and cruel circumstances over several months."
American authorities stated they would maintain to extend consular services to Mohammed's family.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers endorsed a document to diplomatic officials and President Donald Trump, demanding more be done to secure his release.
The father, with four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations about rock throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son following the detention, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him through judicial records.
He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
It is also home to mature inmates, including individuals found guilty regarding severe security violations and homicide.
Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Numerous remain uncharged and human rights groups, and international organizations, say some have suffered mistreatment and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities succumbed to assault by radical settlers following tensions in July.
During that period, the Israeli military said authorities were looking into reports a Palestinian civilian had died.
The two cousins had worked together in the family ice cream shop from Tampa.
No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We expect United States leadership to protect our families," family representatives emphasized.
