English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
